John Eversole Obituary
Columbus Grove, Ohio John Vernon Eversole, age 70, died at his home on Wednesday, April 8, 2015. He was born on May 23, 1944, in Addison, Michigan to the late Vernon and Mary (Bowers) Eversole. He was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1962, Bowling Green State University, class of 1966, and Armor Officer Candidate School, Ft. Knox, Kentucky, class of 1967. He had served as a Weapons Instructor at Ft. Lewis, WA, and as a Captain in Vietnam with the Fourth infantry Division, as an Air/Recon Officer. John was awarded the Bronze Star, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, and the RVN Gallantry Cross. Mr. Eversole had been employed by General Motors Corporation, Defiance, where he retired in 1997. He was a life member of the National Rifle Association, and a member of the Rufus Putnam F & A Masonic Lodge #364, VFW Post #9648, American Legion Post #516, and Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #2772, all of Columbus Grove. John is survived by his brother, William G. Eversole, and nephews, William D. and James P. Per Mr. Eversole's request, there will be no visitation. Burial will be private in Campbell Cemetery, near Columbus Grove. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
