William "Bill" Thornton Obituary
Gilboa, Ohio William Jesse "Bill" Thornton, 69, of Gilboa died Saturday, November 3, 2018 at his home. He was born May 14, 1949, in Lima to the late Richard M. and Mary C. (Chamberlin) Thornton. He is survived by two step-children, Jenni (Joshua) Augsburger of Rudolph and Bill (Lindsey) Bowers of Bluffton; three grandchildren, Cathy Bowers of Rudolph, and Jacob and Ella Bowers of Bluffton; a brother, Richard (Becky) Thornton of Miller City; a sister Carol (Dave) Porter of Lima; a niece, Christina (Eric) Woodland of Dublin and seven nephews, Tony Dunlap, David (Genevieve) Dunlap, Elliot (Jennifer) Lewis, all of Lima, Rick (Barb) Thornton of Columbus Grove and Jon (Amy) Thornton of Dayton. He was preceded in death by a grandson, Kyle Trentman. Bill loved NASCAR, cruising around in his Chevelle with his friend, Tim Korte, growing up on the farm next to Riley Creek and helping his Dad. He enjoyed working on small motors and lawn mowers and spending time in Pandora's Park. He was always grateful for his family, life long friends and special thank you to Cindy and Jeff Garmatter and Salvador, all of whom he knew he could count on if he needed them. The family will hold a private memorial service will be held at a later date. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
