Wilda Caton Obituary
Vaughnsville, Ohio Wilda E. Caton, 93, died peacefully Thursday, November 28, 2019 at her home in Vaughnsville. She was born September 26, 1926 to Elmer and Leora Mae (Nichols) Anderson. They both preceded her in death. On February 11, 1945, she married Vernon Richard Caton, who preceded her in death on June 5, 1974. Wilda was a graduate of Vaughnsville High School, class of 1944. She was a homemaker, she had worked two years at The Lima Tank Plant, and had worked ten years at the Vaughnsville School cafeteria. She also volunteered at St. Rita's. She worked at the former Philips GTE Sylvania Plant, Ottawa, for two years and then was a teller at The Union Bank of Columbus Grove and then Kalida, for a total of 16 years, from which she retired. Wilda was a member of the Vaughnsville Community Church and the Evening Guild Ladies Group. She had been a member of the former Columbus Grove Progressive Mother's Club. She loved gardening, baking, and flower gardening. Wilda enjoyed being a great Mom, Grandma, and Great-Grandma. Survivors include three sons: David (Mercy) Caton of Panama City, FL, Wayne (Cheryl) Caton, and Gail Caton, both of Columbus Grove, OH; one daughter: Susan Siefker of Vaughnsville, OH; twelve grandchildren: Richard Caton, Kim Caton, Jeff (Regina) Caton, Steve (Karen) Caton, Jerry (Jackie) Siefker, Joy (Ryan) Williams, Chadd Caton, Brian (Jessica) Siefker, Chris (Emily) Caton, Julie Siefker, Cristina (Scott) Rankin, and Julie (Justin) Taylor; sixteen great-grandchildren: Trent and Morgan Siefker, Isaac, Kyle and Jared Siefker, Dalton Hyman, Cameron and Mackenzie Caton, Meagan and Adam Williams, Antonia Rankin, Kaleb, Eli, and Gabriel Taylor, and Sam and Audrey Caton; and two step great-grandchildren: Alec and Abby Gladwell. She is preceded in death by one granddaughter: Michelle Caton; one great-grandson: David Williams; and two sisters: twin Wilma Fortman Rimer and Janice Miller. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, December 4, 2019 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, OH. Pastor Tom Brown will officiate, with burial to follow at Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove, OH. Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Tuesday, December 3, 2019 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home.
