Wilbur L Schroeder's Obituary
WILBUR L. SCHROEDER, 97, of Columbus Grove, passed away on Friday, October 17, 2025, at The Meadows of Ottawa. He was born on March 19, 1928, to the late Clem J. and Frances W. (Giesken) Schroeder. On September 30, 1950, he married Marilyn Irwin who preceded him in death on October 12, 2020. She was the love of his life, and they enjoyed 70 years of marriage.
He was a lifelong farmer. He enjoyed cars, going on crop tours, golfing and traveling with friends. He loved spending time with his children, especially his grandchildren and great-grandchildren. He was a friend to many across generations and in all walks of life. He enjoyed life to the fullest and he loved people, especially those of Columbus Grove. Wilbur is survived by son, William I. "Bill" (Janet) Schroeder of Columbus Grove; two daughters, Julie (Charles "Corky") Breeden of West Chester and Jane (Richard “Rick”) Williams of Glandorf; 7 grandchildren, Clay Breeden, Cody Breeden, Chris (Marjorie) Schroeder, Katie (Brad) Campling, Carson Williams, and Austin (Isabella) Williams and Taylor (Tyler) Hayson; 4 great grandchildren, Olivia Hayson, Addison Hayson, Carter Campling and Kendall Campling. He is also preceded in death by siblings, Frank Schroeder, Jim Schroeder, Rudy Schroeder, Mary Louise (Goecke) Rogers and Juliann Schroeder. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 10:3 a.m. Wednesday, October 22, 2025, at St. Anthony of Padua Catholic Church, 512 West Sycamore St., Columbus Grove, OH with Fr. Matthew Keller officiating. Visitation is 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday, October 21, 2025, at Hartman-Rousculp Community Funeral Home 10879 SR OH-12 Columbus Grove. Burial will be at a later date at St. Anthony Cemetery.
