Columbus Grove, Ohio Virginia A. Hoffman, 101, died at 4:15 p.m., on April 10, 2015, at The Meadows of Kalida, Kalida, Ohio. She was born on March 16, 1914, in Ottoville, Ohio, to the late Stephen and Adeline (Miehls) Looser. On January 12, 1937, she married Virgil G. Hoffman, who died December 3, 1974. Mrs. Hoffman was a member of St. Anthony Church, the Altar Rosary and the Catholic Ladies of Columbia. She enjoyed fishing, playing cards, and bowling. Virginia especially enjoyed mowing her lawn, which she did until age 98. Survivors include one son: John (Kathy) Hoffman of Columbus Grove; two daughters: Jean Kohls and Marilyn (Mike) Allen, both of Columbus Grove; ten grandchildren: Dennis (LaDonna) Kohls, Mark (Laurie) Kohls, Jeffrey (Traci) Kohls, Jill (Tim) Oard, Jan (Dennis) Barkimer, Todd (Dee) Hoffman, Amy (Bill) Carder, Jason (Julia) Allen, Scott Allen and Rob (Jill) Allen; 28 great grandchildren: Jesse, Amanda, Brittany, Tyler, Ali, Morgan, Erin, Jenna, Heather, Greg, Jennifer, Kristin, Landon, Connor, Ryan, Andy, Josh, Blake, Brooke, Blaine, Brock, Breanna, Caleb, Natalie, B.J., Andrew, Ian and Hope; eight great great grandchildren: Addisen, Grace, Jack, Jayce, Brielle, Jeriah, Caeden and Brody. She was preceded in death by two brothers: George and John Looser; and three sisters: Elinor Swint, Marjorie Dunlap and Joanne Nichols. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, April 15, 2015, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. Father Tom Extejt will officiate, with burial to follow in St. Anthony Cemetery. Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday, April 14, 2015, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. A Rosary service will begin at the end of visitation on Tuesday. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony School. Online condolences may be expressed to hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
