Virgil Owen Jones' Obituary
Virgil "Owen" Jones 86, passed away on January 22, 2025, at CareCore in Lima, Ohio. He was born on April 19, 1938, in Lafayette, Ohio to Virgil and Gladys (Owens) Jones who preceded him in death. On November 23, 1984, he married Carol Triplehorn who survives in Lima. Owen, also known as "Jonesy" worked for Ford Motor Company for 41 years, retiring in 2000 and also farmed his own land. He was a member of the United States Army Reserves. He worked in 4-H with his children and enjoyed golfing. Owen loved getting together with his family and with his special friends Denny and Janice, Dennie Shaw and Maggie and Don.
In addition to his wife Carol, Owen is survived by his children Dave and Ann Jones, Mark and Lisa Jones, John and Liz Jones, Jenny and Eric Rode, Ryan and April Jones, Dennie Smith, Tami Mason, and Wes and Deanna Griffith. He is also survived his sisters Janet and Kenny Klingler, Beverly Begg, and Marie Gallaher and 12 grandchildren and 2 great grandchildren. Owen was preceded in death by his first wife Kay Barnum Jones and his sisters Charlotte and Karen in addition to his parents.
Funeral services will be Thursday, January 30, 2025, at 2:30 p.m. at Hartman-Rousculp Community Funeral Home in Columbus Grove, Ohio with Pastor Eric Stevenson presiding. Visitation will be 2 hours prior to the service from 12:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m. Burial to follow the service at Cairo Eastside Cemetery, Cairo, Ohio.
