Columbus Grove, Ohio Vern John Karhoff, died at 10:35 p.m., Wednesday, June 17, 2015, surrounded by his family at his residence near Columbus Grove. He was born April 30, 1950, in Cairo, Ohio, to Elmer and Lucille (Gerten) Karhoff. He was preceded in death by his father and his mother currently survives in Cairo, Ohio. On August 23, 1975, he married Donna Weskiel, who survives in Columbus Grove, Ohio. Mr. Karhoff was a graduate of Lima Central Catholic High School, Class of 1968. He had attended business school and was a full time farmer. He was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, Ohio. He was also a social member of the Eagles of Columbus Grove and the National Farmers Organization. Vern enjoyed restoring antique, Oliver tractors. He especially enjoyed his time spent with family, and in particular, his two grandsons. Vern is survived by three daughters: Stephanie (Jason) Brown, St. Mary's, Ohio, Lisa (Jobe) Schroeder, Leipsic, Ohio, and Renee Karhoff, Columbus Grove, Ohio; three brothers: Herman (Martha) Karhoff, Dayton, Ohio, Dan (Jan) Karhoff, Pandora, Ohio, and Bernie (Laura) Karhoff, Cairo, Ohio; one sister: Mary (Eric) Price, Beavercreek, Ohio; and two grandchildren: Ethan Brown and Calvin Schroeder. Visitations will be held from 2:00-8:00 p.m., on Sunday, June 21, 2015, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Mass of a Christian Burial will be at 10:00 am Monday, June 22, 2015 at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, with Father Tom Extejt officiating. Burial will follow in St. John's the Baptist Church Cemetery, Glandorf, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anthony's School Endowment Fund.
