Terry VanHorn Obituary
Terry Lee VanHorn, 77, passed away November 26, 2024 at his home. Born August 13, 1947 to the late Harold and Jean (Myers) VanHorn, Terry was a graduate of Elida High School. He proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam War. After the Army he was a loyal and upstanding employee of the CSX Railroad until he retired.
Terry was an avid hunter and fisherman. He was a lifetime member of the NRA. He enjoyed spending time loading his own shells and shooting clay at the local gun clubs, telling his stories to any kind soul who would lend an ear. He also enjoyed family gatherings with his wife, daughters, grandchildren and great grandchildren. Some of his grandchildren’s fondest memories are playing softball at Robb Park and fishing at the reservoir with their Pawpaw. Terry was a good ole boy, a wholesome man, an upstanding citizen, and always a rule follower. He was a good husband, father, brother, son, pawpaw, and friend. He will be greatly missed.
He is survived by his wife Jean (Stidham) VanHorn, daughters Melissa (Frank) VanHorn of Lima, Terri (Niel) Koenig of Florida, step-daughters Denise (Joe) Biederman of Lima, Jody (John) Nienberg of Delphos, sister Anne (Bernie) Bellman of Elida, brother Harold (Karen) VanHorn of Elida, beloved nephew Shannon (Tina) VanHorn, thirteen grandchildren, many great grandchildren and other family members that loved him dearly.
He is preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Mike and Timmy, grandson Max, and granddaughters Aurora and Isabelle.
Memorial contributions can be made to The Wounded Warriors. Private services will be held at a later date.
