Steven Lackey Obituary
Harrod Steven W. Lackey, 51, died at 7:26 p.m. Oct. 20, 2011, at Triumph Hospital, Lima. He was born April 30, 1960, in Lima to William and Beata Smith Lackey. His father died Dec. 16, 2007. His mother survives in Cairo. He married Krystle G. Watts, who survives in Harrod. Mr. Lackey was a 1978 graduate of Bath High School. He was a meat procurement/processing manager at Rudolph Foods, Westminster. He attended Cairo United Methodist Church, Cairo. He was a member of the Safari Club, an area hunting club. He enjoyed participating in an annual benefit for disabled area hunters. Survivors also include a daughter, Kindsey Watts, of Harrod; a brother, Craig Lackey, of Cairo; a sister, Lisa Hyland, of Lima; three nieces, Melissa Hyland, of Lima, Shelby Conley, of McGuffey, and Lindsay Conley, of Wapakoneta; three nephews, Joseph (Kelley) Lackey, of Columbus Grove, Jacob Hyland, of Lima, and Kolby Conley, of McGuffey; and a great-niece, Ava Lackey, of Columbus Grove. He was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Gilbert R. Hyland. Services will begin at 1 p.m. Monday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Rich Rakay will officiate. Burial will be in Cairo East Cemetery, Cairo. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Sunday and one hour prior to services Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Cairo United Methodist Church, or a charity of the donor's choice. The family would like to thank Jim and Rich Rudolph, the Rudolph Foods family, the staff at Triumph Hospital and Dr. Scott Stienecker, for their love and support throughout the years, and especially during his recent illness.
