Stanley A Meyer's Obituary
Stanley A. Meyer, 74, Smyrna, DE, formerly of Lima, Ohio, passed away unexpectedly on Tuesday, December 24, 2024, at home. Born in Lima, he was the son of the late Rudy and Alice (Altstaetter) Meyer. He proudly served his country in the US Army. He was a graduate of Allen East High School. He was a sports radio broadcaster for several stations and worked at Boscov’s, Delmar Radio. “Stan the Fan” was a huge follower of all the sports and at any level from high school to the pro’s. Broadcasting was truly his passion. His roots from Ohio kept him a faithful fan of Ohio State and the Bengals. Most importantly, he loved spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife of 13 years, Phyllis (Ray) Meyer; children, Todd Meyer of Bridgeville, DE, and Stacy Clendaniel of Hartly, DE; Stepchildren, Matt (Karri) Dawson of Hagerstown, MD, Michelle (Tyler) Jiorle of Dover, DE, Amy (Keith) Lee, Dover, DE; siblings, Jay Meyer of Bellefontaine, OH, and Marlene Groves of UT; grandchildren, Kyle, Natalie, Derek, and Alexander Lane; step grandchildren, Daniel (Katie) Stewart of Hagerstown, MD, Taylor Hicks, Bridgeville, DE, Carter Jiorle and Conall Jiorle, both of Dover, DE, Jade Stewart of Hagerstown, MD, Katelyn Dawson of Hagerstown, MD, Lena Jiorle, Eevee Lee, and Carmen Lee of Dover, DE. He was also preceded in death by brothers, Roy and Max Meyer; brother-in-law, Ray Groves. Graveside services at 2 p.m. Friday, January 3, 2025, at Alstaetter Cemetery, 1124 Hillville Rd., Lima, OH. Hartman-Rousculp Community Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, OH are entrusted with the arrangements. Burial in Altstaetter Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Preferred memorials to donor’s choice.
