Candy (Robasser) Keener
Shirley was a wonderful friend during our years at Bowling Green State University. We enjoyed lots of good times in and and outside of the dormitory: classes, football games, and Kappa Phi, to name a few. I remember that Shirley would play her guitar, and we would sing! She talked about her family, and I remember stories of her siblings: Bruce, David, and Nancy. We were surprised when we realized that our parents had similar names: Shirley’s parents being Elmer Vernon and Dorothy, and mine were Vernon Marion and Dorothy. Over the years through our exchange of Christmas letters, I enjoyed learning about Shirley’s success during her teaching years and beyond, as well as the additions to her wonderful family of which she was so proud. I will miss Shirley’s letters. My sympathy to Shirley’s lovely family. May you cherish and be comforted by the memories you have had with this wonderful lady.
