COLUMBUS GROVE — Shirley A. Miller, 78, died at 4:20 a.m. Nov. 11, 2013, at Van Wert Inpatient Hospice Center, Van Wert. She was born Sept. 12, 1935, in Lima to Brice W. and Iona M. Engle, who preceded her in death. On June 27, 1953, she married Everett E. Miller, who died Aug. 2, 2008. Mrs. Miller was a 1953 graduate of Roundhead High School, Roundhead. She retired as a bus driver from Columbus Grove schools. She was a past matron for Chapter 527 Order of Eastern Star, Columbus Grove. She enjoyed square-dancing, The Ohio State University Buckeyes and Cincinnati Reds. Survivors include three sons, Everett E. Miller Jr., of Lima, Brice L. (Lorraine) Miller, of Van Buren, and William D. (Lynn) Miller, of Columbus Grove; a daughter, Kelly Jo (Bill) Hayes, of Columbus Grove; a brother, Darrell D. (Sandy) Engle, of Lima; eight grandchildren, Amy D. (Jim Nunn) Miller, Melissa Goedde, Matthew (Deb) Goedde, Brian D. (Dayami) Miller, Everette E. "Buster" Miller, Branden K. Miller, Lacey N. Miller and Bradley B. Miller; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a daughter, Brenda L. Goedde; a son, Kenneth W. Miller; a brother, Richard Engle; and a sister, Linda L. Caskey. Services will begin at 7 p.m. Thursday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. The Rev. Dennis Coates will officiate. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove, at a later date. Friends may call from 4 p.m. until 7:00pm time of services Thursday at the funeral home, where an Order of Eastern Star service will be held at 3:30 p.m. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kidney Foundation or Multiple Sclerosis Association.
