Shirley Maag Obituary
Columbus Grove, Ohio Shirley A. Maag, 83, died at 12:05 pm, on March 13, 2017, at Meadow of Ottawa. She was born March 26, 1933, in Leipsic to Louis and Vada (Goodman) Borck. They both preceded her in death. She had been married to Ed Buenger, who preceded her in death. On May 13, 1961, she married Eugene Maag, he survives in Columbus Grove. She is survived by two sons: Ken (Jill) Maag and Philip (Alice) Maag both of Columbus Grove; one daughter: Beth (Roger) Recker of Ottawa; ten grandchildren: Cory (Trista) Maag, Ryan (Tabitha) Maag, Eric (Kendra) Maag, Krista Maag, Kurt (Andrea) Recker, Jerred (Jenna) Recker, Brian (Angela) Recker, Joshua Maag, Racheal (Austin) Basinger and Erin Maag; 15 great grandchildren with one on the way and one sister in-law: Ann Borck Ozaki. She was preceded in death by two brothers: Kenneth Borck and Ronald Borck; four sisters: Jan Borck, Elaine Borck, Margaret Marlin and Helen Williams. Shirley was a graduate of Leipsic High School. She had been a bookkeeper for area businesses including, Brecht Brothers Garage, Leipsic; AGRI Supply, Ottawa; the Columbus Grove Elevator; and had worked in Columbus Grove with the Kohls Grocery. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, and the Altar Rosary Society. Shirley enjoyed playing cards and bingo, her favorite activity was anything that involved her grandchildren. Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 am on Friday, March 17, 2017, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church. Father Tom Extejt will officiate with burial to follow in St. Anthony Church Cemetery. Friends may call Thursday, March 16, 2017, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00pm at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Scripture Service will be held at 8:00pm at the end of visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Anthony School Endowment Fund. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
