Shirlee Collar Obituary
Vaughnsville, Ohio Shirlee Ann Collar, age 78, died on June 10, 2016, at her home in Vaughnsville, Ohio, with her loving family at her side. She was born on February 22, 1938, in Lima, Ohio, to the late George and Maxine (Moyers) Jones. Shirlee married her loving husband of sixty years, Lloyd C. Collar, on February 18, 1956, and he survives in Vaughnsville. She is survived by a son, Brad (Karen) Collar of Columbus Grove; a daughter Trina (Russell) Feinberg of Upper Arlington; three grandchildren, Brian (Katrina) Collar of Pandora, Megan (James) Heilman of Toledo, and Matthew Feinberg of Upper Arlington. She was preceded in death by a sister Sherran (Jack) Centers. Shirlee retired from Rhodes State College as a Computer Programming Instructor in the Computer Science Department. She had previously worked at Dinner Bell Foods, Defiance and Scot Lad Foods, Lima, as a Systems Analyst. She was a graduate from the College of Arts and Sciences at The Ohio State University, Lima and received her Bachelor of Arts degree in Economics from Bluffton College. She was a member of the United Methodist Church, Vaughnsville, where she spent many years teaching Sunday School, helping with Bible School, and working with the Women's Guild. She was a very compassionate, caring person, who always put family first. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, June 13, 2016, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Dr. Tom Brown will officiate with burial to follow at Pike Run Cemetery, Gomer. Friends may call from 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 12, 2016, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to donor's choice.
