Vaughnsville, Ohio
Sandra S. Waaland "Sandy", age 62, of Vaughnsville, Ohio, passed away on August 19, 2022, at her home. She was born in Dayton, Ohio, on April 22, 1960, to Robert and Roberta (Day) Peters who both preceded her in death. On January 3, 1998, she married her best friend and soulmate Rick Waaland who survives in Vaughnsville.
To continue on her legacy and to celebrate her life are her sons Robert (Yvette) Spencer, Matthew (Amy) Spencer, Christopher (Terri) Waaland; and daughters Michelle (Matt) Bowers, and April (Jeremy Richard) Moore. She is also survived by her sister Mary (Ralph) Castleman, and her brothers Phil (Ivy) Peters, Robert (Carol) Peters, John (Teresa) Peters. Fourteen grandchildren, and one great grandchild and her In-laws Pam (Don) Allison, Voni (Mark) Detamore, Julie (Rick) Holbein, Greg Waaland, Jeff (Donna) Waaland and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her in laws Loren "Ducky" and Patricia Waaland.
Sandy was proud of her children's accomplishments, achievements and the people they became as adults. She was especially proud of her grandchildren. They were the light of her life. Sandy worked at Roman J. Claproods for 35 years. The last 6 years she was owner/operator of MSR Floral.
At Sandy's request there will be no services or visitations. There will be a celebration of her life at a later date when her family’s hearts have healed.
Special thank you to Sandy's dear friend Betty Hooker and sister, Mary, for all the love and great care over the last few months.
The family would also like to thank Free Christian Church of God, Pastor Jim, Bridge Hospice, Mandie Schroeder CNP, and all Sandy's wonderful customers for all the love, prayers and support.
The family requests any memorial contributions be made to Findlay Bridge Hospice, or the Putnam County Council on Aging.
