Columbus Grove, Ohio Ruth E. Griffith, 90, died at 7:00 p.m. on Sunday, December 28, 2014, at Putnam Heritage Assisted Living, Ottawa, Ohio. She was born on March 22, 1924 in Leipsic, Ohio to Richard and Cecelia (Selhorst) Kuhlman, who preceded her in death. On October 16, 1947, she married Donald E. Griffith, who preceded her in death on October 5, 2009. Mrs. Griffith grew up in Leipsic and attended Leipsic School. A homemaker, she was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, where she sang in the Church choir and a member of the Altar Rosary Society. She had worked at Fortman Cleaners, Columbus Grove. She was a member of the American Legion Auxillary, Post 516, Columbus Grove, and the Senior Citizens of Bluffton and their band, "The Golden Swingers." Ruth enjoyed crocheting, crafts, singing, playing the organ, riding her bicycle and going on walks with her dog. She is survived by two sons: Dan (Cheryl Sturbi) Griffith, Youngstown and Greg (Cheryl) Griffith, Ottawa; two daughters: Pam (Rich) Caldwell, Powhatan Point and Cindy Streicher, Continental; 13 grandchildren: Jason, Brent and Matt Griffith; Jodi and Ben Snively and Adam Caldwell; Josh Miller and Nikki Kupper; Erin and Tyler Griffith; Jordan Streicher, Emily Clark and Allison Streicher; 12 great grandchildren; two brothers: William T. Kuhlman, Ottawa and Richard (Kay) Kuhlman, New Bavaria; one brother in-law: Gary (Sharon) Griffith, Lima. Ruth was preceded in death by: a daughter, Paulette Miller; a son in-law, Timothy Streicher; her brother, Paul "Gene" (Viola) Kuhlman and a sister in-law Rita Jane Kuhlman. Mass of Christian burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 31, 2014, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. Father Tom Extejt will officiate. Burial will follow in St. Anthony's Catholic Cemetery, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Friends may call on Tuesday, December 30, 3014, from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio.
