Columbus Grove, Ohio Ruth A. Steffen, 82, died Friday December 20, 2013 at 5:20pm at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora, Ohio. She was born February 20, 1931 in Columbus Grove, Ohio to Murrel and Alice (Mason) Basinger, who preceded her in death. Ruth married Leonard Steffen on March 18, 1950, he died on January 16, 1977. Mrs. Steffen was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1949. She was a member of the Missionary Church, Pandora. Ruth had worked at the former City Loan and Savings, Lima; Pandora School System and then she retired from Richland Manor after 27 years as a nurses aid. Survivors include two sons; Gary (Nancy) Steffen of Pandora, and Richard (Lori) Steffen of Columbus Grove; one brother Paul Basinger of Lima and one sister in-law Dolores Basinger of Marion. She is preceded in death by one brother Robert Basinger and one sister in-law Shirley Basinger. Services will begin at 11:00 am on Monday December 23, 2013 at HARTMAN SONS FUNERAL HOME, Columbus Grove, Chaplain Rick Hart will officiate. Burial will in Pleasant Ridge Cemetery, Pandora, Ohio. Friends may call on Monday from 10:00 -11:00 am time of the service, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. Memorial contributions maybe made to the Ceiling Lift Fund at Hilty Memorial Home or the Putnam County Hospice. Online condolences maybe expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
