Russell Joseph Rigg's Obituary
Russell Joseph Rigg, 90, of Fort Jennings, passed away on Thursday, May 1, 2025, at the Meadows of Kalida. Born in Continental, he was the son of the late Glenn and Juanita (Pitney) Rigg.
He worked as a truck driver and diesel mechanic for J.M. Williams of Vaughnsville. He was a member of Vaughnsville Community Church. He proudly served his country with the US Marine Corp. He enjoyed polka dancing, square dancing, working on cars, tinkering on engines, roller skating and going to the lake and boating.
He is survived by his wife of 68 years, Jeanne (Johnson) Rigg; daughter Debra (George) Gyetvai, Terry (Gina) Rigg and Kevin (Lisa) Rigg; 8 grandchildren and 11 great grandchildren. He is also preceded in death by half-sister, Patti Miree; stepbrother, Dick Knapp and granddaughter, Alexis Payne.
Funeral Service is Monday, May 5, 2025, at 10:30am, at Hartman-Rousculp Community Funeral Home, 10879 SR OH-12 Columbus Grove with visitation one hour prior (9:30-10:30am) and Pastor Tom Brown officiating. Burial to follow at Vaughnsville Cemetery. Visitation is also Sunday, May 4, 2025, from 1:00-4:00pm, at the funeral home. Preferred memorials can be made to Gideon's or donor's choice.
