Columbus Grove- Rose Mary “Bobbie” McCrate 97, passed away January 9, 2024 at The Meadows of Kalida. She was born October 19, 1926 in Columbus Grove, Ohio to Louis H. Hermiller and Mary A. (Hannamen) Hermiller who preceded her in death. On March 20, 1948, she married John W. McCrate who preceded her in death on May 23, 2007.
Bobbie was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1944. She worked at Pandora Products, Pandora Ohio, from which she retired. Bobbie was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove and the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the American Legion Post 516 Auxiliary and the VFW Post 9648 Auxiliary, both of Columbus Grove.
Bobbie is survived by 3 sons, Gregory McCrate, Patrick McCrate and Terry (Betsy) McCrate and 1 daughter, Marlene (Michael) Otto. She is also survived by 4 grandchildren, Matthew McCrate, Amber McCrate, Darren McCrate and Elizabeth Otto and 3 great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Bobbie is preceded in death by her daughter, Mary Alice McCrate and her grandson, Patrick Otto. She is also preceded in death by her brother, Amos Hermiller and 4 sisters, Frances Jones, Agnes “Jo” Lane, Mildred Murphy and Edna Mae Walker.
Visitations will be held on Friday, January 12, 2024 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio from 2:00 p.m. - 4:00 p.m. and from 6:00 p.m. – 8:00 p.m. Funeral Mass will be held Saturday, January 13,2024 at 10:00 a.m. at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, Ohio with Father David Ritchie presiding. Burial will follow in St. Anthony’s Cemetery.
Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Anthony School Endowment Fund.
