Robert "Bob" Blankemeyer Obituary
KALIDA Robert L. "Bob" Blankemeyer, 71, died June 1, 2011. He was born June 10, 1939, in Columbus Grove to Cornelius and Cecilia Goecke Blankemeyer. On June 20, 1964, he married Judith Unverferth, who survives in Kalida. Mr. Blankemeyer was a 1957 graduate of Columbus Grove High School and graduated from Ohio Northern University in mechanical engineering. He was former vice president of MetoKote Corp. for 30 years. He and his wife worked with many Christian ministries to bring the Gospel to those who never had an opportunity to hear about Jesus and his saving grace. Survivors also include two sons, Dennis A. (Denise Birkemeier) Blankemeyer, of Columbus, and Kurt R. (Kathleen Glass) Blankemeyer, of Crawfordville, Fla.; three daughters, Kathleen A. Blankemeyer, of Columbus, Lynn M. (Nathan) Schulte, of Ottumwa, Iowa, and Beth A. (Scott) Warnecke, of Kalida; 11 grandchildren, Brooke, Jacob and Faith Blankemeyer, Nickolas Bellomio and William Blankemeyer, Rosetta, Xavier, Giorianna and Lilyana Schulte, and Lincoln and Mason Warnecke; four brothers, Norman (Cathy) Blankemeyer, of Waterville, Daniel (Dolly) Blankemeyer, of Columbus Grove, James (Carolyn) Blankemeyer, of Venore, Tenn., and Joseph (Judy) Blankemeyer, of Columbus Grove; a sister, Patricia Donaldson of Columbus Grove; and a sister-in-law, Juanita Blankemeyer, of Ottawa. He was preceded in death by a brother, William Blankemeyer and a brother in-law, James Donaldson. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10 a.m. Saturday at St. Michael Catholic Church, Kalida. The Rev. Mike Whitman will officiate. Burial will be in St. Michael Cemetery, Kalida. Friends may call from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday and from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 p.m. Friday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor's choice.
