Vaughnsville, Ohio Richard K. Edgington, 85, died at 10:30 pm Sunday, July 2, 2017, at Wapakoneta Manor. He was born on February 14, 1932, in Lima, to Ray Charles and Della (Ayers) Edgington. They both preceded him in death. On January 8, 1977 he married Marlene Salisbury, and she preceded him in death, January 19, 2000. Richard is survived by one son: Ray (Lavera) Edgington of Waynesfield; one daughter: Cathy (Lenny) Randazzo of Phoenix, AZ; nine grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren: He is preceded in death by one son: David Edgington; two brothers: Duane and Robert R. "Bob" Edgington and two sisters: Marceil Rhodes and Phyllis Gladfelter. Mr. Edgington retired from the former Lima Register, now Milcor Corp, Lima. He enjoyed woodworking, building various items in the toy and home furnishing areas. He was a published writer, providing articles for various magazines, such as Farm and Life Living, Reminisce Magazine, Country Extra and Country Magazine. He also was featured in the "Pluggers" comic in the newspaper. Services will begin at 2:00 pm on Thursday, July 6, 2017, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Rich Rakay will officiate with burial to follow in Vaughnsville Cemetery. Friends may call from 11:00am - 2:00pm, time of the service at Hartman Sons Funeral Home. Memorial contributions may be made to Wapakoneta Manor Activity Department or St. Rita's Hospice. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com
