Ralph Marshall Obituary
Columbus Grove Ralph H. Marshall, 87, died at 3 a.m. Jan. 12, 2012, at The Meadows of Ottawa-Glandorf. He was born May 27, 1924, in Bluffton to Homer and Kate Basinger Marshall, who preceded him in death. He was raised by his aunt and uncle, Lester and Katherine Basinger Winebrenner, since birth. In June 1981, he married Dorothy Ball Kendrick, who died in November 2010. He had also been married to Alice Height, who preceded him in death, and Carrie H. Linderman, who died in August 2000. Mr. Marshall retired from Randall Bearings Inc., Lima. He enjoyed stock car racing when he was younger. In later years he enjoyed visiting with his farming neighbors, keeping updated on the crops, fishing and going to county fairs. He loved his children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren dearly. Survivors include three sons, Ralph Eugene "Gene" (Pat) Marshall, of Lima, Steven Wayne "Steve" (Linda) Marshall, of Harrod, and Robert Earl "Bob" (Molly) Marshall, of Cloverdale; three daughters, Shirley Jean (Richard) Wiggins (and her special friend Homer Jacobs), Kimberly Sue "Kim" (Dale) Neidemire and Brenda Kay (Bill Colley) Marshall, all of Columbus Grove; two stepsons, Donald (Barbara) Kendrick, of Kentucky, and Allen (Connie) Kendrick, of Canton; a stepdaughter, Sophia Ray, of Canton, 30 grandchildren, 29, great-grandchildren, eight stepgrandchildren and five stepgreat-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Heather Neidemire; and a great-grandson Austin Marshall. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Dave Thompson will officiate. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. Monday and 10 to 11 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home.
