Paul L. Sybert, 75, died Saturday, April 20, 2013, at St. Rita Medical Center, Lima, Ohio. He was born June 6, 1937, in Dupont, Ohio, the son of Byron L. and Lenore (Miller) Sybert, who both preceded him in death. On January 28, 1961, he married Leatrice J. Johnson. She died March 19, 2012.
Paul graduated from Kalida High School, class of 1956. He served in the Army National Guard Reserve. He worked for the D. T. & I. Railroad and the Grand Trunk Railroad, from which he retired. An avid motorcyclist, Paul was a lifetime member of the Harley Owners Group (HOG) organization, and a lifetime member of the American Motorcycle Club (AMC). He was a member of the Vaughnsville Community Church. He enjoyed drag racing and participated at many of the area tracks.
Surviving are two sons, Bruce (Sheri) Sybert and Earl Eberle, and a daughter, Pauletta (Steve) Wiener, all of Vaughnsville. Three brothers, David (Peggy) Sybert, Land-O-Lakes, FL; Pete (Barb) Sybert, Vaughnsville; and Alfred (Michele) Sybert, Zephfer Hills, FL; and a sister, Mary Sybert, Vaughnsville. There are eleven grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren.
A daughter, Christine D. Maas, a grandson, Colton Sybert, brothers George, Larry, and Keith Sybert, and his sister, Jane Decker, preceded Paul in death.
Visitation will be held Thursday, from 2-4 and 6-8 PM at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, with funeral services on Friday at 11:00 AM, Rev. Tom Brown officiating. Memorials may be made to the Vaughnsville Community Church. Condolences to hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
