Norma Vance Obituary
Vaughnsville, Ohio
Norma J. "Tinky" Vance, 91, passed away at her home June 30, 2022. She was born March 23, 1931, to William H. and Emma C. (Niehaus) Gephart who both preceded in her death. She married Edgar D. Vance on July 29, 1954, who survives in Vaughnsville.
Norma graduated from Vaughnsville High School, class of 1949. She worked as a clerk at Sears, worked for several doctors in the Lima area, and worked at the Vaughnsville Community Center. Norma was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, its Altar Rosary Society, and their CLC. She was a member of the CCL Vaughnsville Mother's Club. She was very active in the Vaughnsville Community Center. Norma enjoyed playing cards, trips to the casinos, and gambling. She truly enjoyed flowers and gardening but most of all loved spending time around her family and friends.
Norma is survived by her sons Scott (Aileen) Vance, Col. Grove, Philip (Tami) Vance, Ottawa, Kevin (Gloria) Vance, Pandora, and Jeff (Lisa) Vance, Col. Grove. She is also survived by nine grandkids: Alison Binkley, Shannon (Jason) Selhorst, Shane Vance, Shelby Vance, Shawn Vogel, Alyssa (Colin) Shine, Candace (Brad) Meyer, Derek Vance, and Amber (Nathan) Schroeder along with 13 great grandchildren, and one great great grandchild. She was preceded in death by three brothers and two sisters: Don Gephart, H. Grace Shafer, Marian (Toot) Shafer, Richard (Dick) Gephart, Charles Gephart; and her grandson-in-law Todd Binkley.
A funeral mass will be held on Tuesday, July 5, 2022, at 10:00 am at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, where friends may call from 9:00 am until time of service. Father David Ritchie presiding. Burial to follow at Vaughnsville Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the Vaughnsville Community Center following the service.
