Noreen Jenkins Obituary
LIMA — Noreen Porterfield Jenkins, 82, of Newburgh, Ind., formally of Lima, passed away at 11:50 p.m., Sept. 24, 2012, at St. Mary’s Hospital. Noreen was born Nov. 23, 1929, in Hamilton to Roscoe D. and Crystal Offord Porterfield, who preceded her in death. Noreen was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School and was a retired bank teller. She is survived by her husband of 15 years, Daniel of Newburgh; two daughters, Gail (Richard) Hartman, of Cleveland, and Deborah (Doug) McDonald, of Chicago; two sons, Gary (Maryanne) Wessel, of Cleveland, and James Wessel, of Cleveland; three stepdaughters, Patricia Hampton, of Louisville, Ky., Connie (Tommy) Pontrich of Shelbyville, Ky., and Rhonda (Mike) Weissmann, of Newburgh, Ind.; three stepsons, Jack (Janet) Jenkins, of Newburgh, Ind., Robert Jenkins, of Avon, Ind., and Daniel Jenkins Jr., of Evansville, Ind.; five grandchildren, Anne and Christine Hartman, Benjamin and Thea Wessel, and Katie McDonald; and 14 stepgrandchildren, Jennifer Cashon, Chris Bender, David Axley, Jessica Medley, Andrew Pontrich, Brian Jenkins, Kevin Jenkins, Skip Schroeder, Laura Winstanley, Summer Jenkins, Adam Jenkins, Aaron Weissmann, Andrew Weissmann and Abbi Weissmann. She was preceded in death by a sister, Marlyn A. Porterfield, who died in 2010. Memorial Services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. The Reverend Mark Burden will officiate. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Parkinson’s disease Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY, 10018.
