Naomi Bowers Obituary
Columbus Grove Naomi Marie Bowers, 82, died at 11:53 p.m. June 27, 2012, at her residence. She was born Oct. 12, 1929, in Lima to Jerry Maurice and Laura Belle Snider Witham, who preceded her in death. On Jan. 4, 1951, she married Robert L. Bowers, who died April 14, 1997. Mrs. Bowers was a graduate of Buckland High School, Buckland. She was a member of St. John United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove, and its Women's Group. She had served as a precinct worker in Putnam County for several years. She was a member of Mother's Club Blocks to Books, Columbus Grove. She loved playing cards and enjoyed being with her family, whether it was going to Atlanta to see her daughters, going to the lake with family or having them over to her home. Survivors include two sons, Michael (Jill) Bowers, of Columbus Grove, and David Bowers, of Lima; two daughters, Debra (Robert) Sherwood, of Lilburn, Ga., and Cynthia (Joel) Dunifon, of Snellville, Ga.; a sister, Eleanor (Paul) Iler, of Bucyrus; nine grandchildren, Heidi (Kevin) Goon, Mikey (Amanda) Bowers, Robbie Sherwood, Ashley (John) London, Jared and Jason Dunifon, and Benjamin, Austin and Samantha Bowers; and seven great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by seven brothers and two sisters. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Monday at Chiles-Laman Funeral & Cremation Services, Bluffton. Pastor Gary Ginter will officiate. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Friends may call from 2 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to St. John United Methodist Church or Putnam County Hospice.
