Miriam E. Warrington, 92, of Cairo, Ohio passed away peacefully Sunday, August 18, 2024, at Lima Memorial Hospital surrounded by her loving family.
Miriam was born on April 15, 1932 to Reed and Zelma Williams in Kenton, Ohio. After Miriam graduated from Kenton High School in 1950, she completed her nursing degree at Lima Memorial Hospital.
In 1954 Miriam met Dale Warrington, her future, husband, while treating him for an eye injury at the hospital. Miriam and Dale Warrington were wed in 1954 and were later blessed with three sons, Ken, Dave, and Dick. After her husband’s passing in 1965, Miriam became the school nurse at Bath Local Schools for 30 years.
Miriam was blessed with many lifelong friendships. She enjoyed traveling, attending Columbus Grove Christian Church and meeting often for lunch with her fellow retired teachers, nurses, and the Cairo Widows’ Group. She loved her flower gardens, doing water aerobics at the YMCA, and entering her many antiques in the Allen County Fair. She was an avid Buckeys fan and always had a front row seat three feet from her TV in the kitchen chair. Spending time with her family is what she loved most.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dale Warrington, her son Ken Warrington, her sister Janet Wolgast, and her brother-in-law Eddie (Rink) Warrington.
She is survived by her sister Katie Berry of Columbus, OH, her sons Dave Warrington of Bradenton, FL, and Dick (Jan) Warrington of Columbus Grove, OH, her daughter-in-law Faye Warrington of Lima, OH, three grandchildren, Jeffery Warrington of Lima, OH, Rachael (Dillon) Bok of Middlepoint, OH, and Ashley (Wally) McGinnis of Columbus, OH, five great grandchildren, Ella Warrington, Grace Warrington, Jack McGinnis, Kennedy Bok, and Evan McGinnis.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to the Columbus Grove Christian Church.
Visitation will be on Friday, August 23, 2024 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home from 2 – 7pm. Additional visitation will be on Saturday, August 24, 2024 at the Columbus Grove Christian Church from 9 – 10:30am with the funeral service immediately following officiated by Pastor Geoff Eubank.
Burial will be at Cairo East Cemetery.
