Milton Deffenbaugh Obituary
Columbus Grove, Ohio Milton L. Deffenbaugh, age 76, passed away Saturday, October 3, 2015, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Lima, Ohio. He was born August 6, 1939, in Lima, Ohio, to Ray E. and Margaret (Auchmuty) Deffenbaugh. They both proceeded him in death. Darlene (Ward) Deffenbaugh, who survives in Columbus Grove, Ohio, and her husband, Milton, celebrated 51 years of marriage this past August 8th. Mr. Deffenbaugh was a graduate of Vaughnsville High School, Class of 1957. He attended Bowling Green State University, and graduated from Ohio Northern University in 1962. He was a life long farmer. Milton taught at Columbus Grove High School and worked for the former Sylvania GTE for twenty-two years, and in his retirement, he worked at Tractor Supply, Lima, Ohio. Milton served seven terms as Clerk of Sugar Creek Township. He was a member of the Ottawa River Church of God, where he was the song leader, and had served as Church Trustee. He enjoyed being a member of and singing with the Lima Bean Chorus. His hobby was woodworking and he really enjoyed playing golf. He is survived by three sons: Darren (Dana) Deffenbaugh, Columbus Grove, Mark (Kim) Deffenbaugh, Massillon, Ohio, and Brian (Wendy) Deffenbaugh, Columbus, Ohio; one brother: Paul (Penny) Deffenbaugh, Fremont, Ohio; twelve grandchildren; and six great grandchildren. Milton was preceded in death by one brother: William R. Deffenbaugh. Funeral services will begin at 11:00 am on Tuesday, October 6, 2015, at Ottawa River Church of God with Pastor Mark Walls officiating. Burial will follow in Ottawa River Cemetery, Rimer, Ohio. Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 pm and 6:00-8:00 pm on Monday, October 5, 2015, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio.
