Michael "Mike" Tudor Obituary
Vaughnsville, Ohio Michael D. "Mike" Tudor, 64, died Tuesday, February 17, 2015, at his home near Vaughnsville. He was born December 21, 1950, in Lima, to Willis D. "Will" and Josephine R. "Jo" (Emick) Tudor. His mother survives near Vaughnsville, and his father preceded him in death on October 11, 2013. Mr. Tudor was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1968. After graduation, Mike received training in Hotel and Restaurant Management field, at the National Hospitality Management Company, Washington D.C.. He managed Hotels and Restaurants in Lima, L.A., Lake Tahoe, and Dayton to name a few. In the mid eighties Mike moved back to Ohio, and purchased LaRue's Landscaping and Nursery, Elida, which he owned and operated until he phased out of business and into retirement. A man of many talents, he loved to cook for friends and family, and was a fantastic chef, right at home in the kitchen. He took great pride of his landscape and gardening work. Mike was a Ford/Lincoln/Mercury enthusiast! His first job was with Timmerman Ford, in Lima. All his life long, Mike was a very humane person with a genuine love for dogs and cats. Mike is survived by two sisters: Pamela J. (Tom) Jerwers, Kalida and Cynthia K. (Gary) Schnipke, Cloverdale; five nieces and nephews: Travis (Dawn) Jerwers, Heather (Karl) Utrup, Ryan Jerwers, Garicyn Schnipke and Madicyn Schnipke and four grt nieces and nephews: Trent, Kollin and Brynn Utrup and Emma Jerwers. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, February 23, 2015 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Pastor Rich Rakay will officiate. Burial will follow in Pike Run Cemetery, Gomer, Ohio. Visitation will be from 5:00-8:00p.m. on Sunday, February 24, 2015, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Putnam County Home Health and Hospice. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
