Lima, Ohio Michael Lee Betts, age 65, died at 7:23 pm, Sunday, February 11, 2018, at his home in Lima, Ohio. He was born on February 5, 1953, in Lima, Ohio to Robert and Mary (Young) Betts. They both preceded him in death. On September 16, 1972, he married Pamela Sue Martz Betts. She survives in Lima, Ohio. Michael is also survived by three sons: Kent (Cassie) Betts of Lima, Eric (Terrie) Betts of Columbus Grove and Tim (Justina Letutour) Betts of Lafayette; six grandchildren: Jasmine Betts of Lima, Dylon Golden of Columbus Grove, Hannah Betts of Columbus Grove, Tim and Hunter Betts both of Lafayette, Hailey Lee Betts; and one sister in-law: Sharon K. Doseck of Lima. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter: Hailey Lee Betts and a brother: Robert D. Betts. Michael was a graduate of Bath High School, class of 1973. He was a U. S. Army veteran, retired in 1992 after 20 years of service. Michael worked as a corrections officer at Lima Corrections and retired as General Manager of Denny's in Beaverdam in 2015. He was an avid NY Yankees fan, and enjoyed hunting, fishing and camping with his family. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m., on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor John Maynard will officiate with burial to follow in Memorial Park, Lima, Ohio, with military rites. Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 pm on Tuesday, February 13, 2018, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to Wounded Warriors Foundation.
