Merlin Geib Obituary
Columbus Grove, Ohio Merlin Victor Geib, 62, passed at 7:35 am, Thursday, April 20, 2017, at St. Rita's Medical Center, Inpatient Hospice, Lima. He was born in St. Marys, Ohio , January 18, 1955, to Paul C. Geib and Gertrude W. "Gertie" (Jung) Geib Miller. They both preceded him in death along with his step-father Ralph L. Miller. On June 21, 1986, he married Cathy L. Feeney, she survives in Putnam County, Ohio. He is survived by three brothers: Michael R. (Patricia) Geib of New Knoxville, Mark (Sherri) Geib of Waldron, MI and Maurice G. (Doreen) Miller of Columbus Grove; and several nieces and nephews. Merlin was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1973. He attended ITT Tech for service and repair of refrigeration units. He worked for Tracy's Appliances, Lima, for 38 years. Merlin was a life member of the NRA. He enjoyed farming, raising live stock , hunting, helping with 4-H, and camping. Merlin was very attached to his Jack Russell, Zoey. Services will begin at 1:00 pm on Monday, April 24, 2017, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Father Mark Hoying will officate, with burial to follow in German Protestant Cemetery, New Bremen, Ohio. Friends may call on Sunday, April 23, 2017, from 2:00-4:00 and 6:00-8:00pm at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Inpatient Hospice or Putnam County 4-H. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
