Columbus Grove, Ohio Mary Martha (Halker) Kiene Fischer, age 80, died at 2:04 p.m., at Lima Convalescent Home, Lima, Ohio. She was born on April 26, 1936, to Leo and Frances (Nartker) Halker. They both preceded her in death. On June 19, 1954, she married Leroy "Bud" Fischer, he survives in Columbus Grove. Mary is survived by five sons: Terry L. (Monica) Fischer of Lima, Keith Fischer of Dayton, Ronald (Deborah) Fischer of Wapakoneta, Donald (Sherri) Fischer of Lima and Dale (Mechele) Fischer of Columbus Grove; three daughters: Kathleen (Thomas) Siebeneck of Kalida, Sandra (Rick) Schaublin of Columbus Grove and Judy (Fischer) Ward of Lima; 21 grandchildren; 19 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; three sisters in-law: Esther Halker of Columbus Grove, Mary Halker of Huntsville and Janet Halker of Florida; and two brothers in-law: Laverne Hermiller of Bluffton and Walter "Butch" Fischer of Delphos. She was preceded in death by eight brothers: Eugene, Francis" Sonny", Edward (Mary Ann), Harold "Hattie" (Vivian), James (Ida "Daisy"), Raymond, Rolland and Richard (Patricia) Halker and two sisters: Delores Hermiller and Rosie (Paul) Miller and her previous husband Arthur Kiene. Mary had retired in 1998 from International Brake, Lima. She was a member of St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, Catholic Ladies of Columbia and the Funeral Committee of the church. She was a member of VFW Auxiliary Post #9648, Columbus Grove; Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie #370, Lima and the Fraternal Order of Orioles #173 Lima Nest. Mary enjoyed outdoors working in her flower beds and especially spending time with her family and grandkids. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m. on Tuesday, January 10, 2017, at St. Anthony's Catholic Church, Columbus Grove. Father Tom Extejt will officiate, with burial to follow in the church cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, January 9, 2017, from 2:00-8:00 p.m., at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. where a Rosary service will be held at the close of visitation. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Rita's Hospice or Lima Convalescent Home. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
