Columbus Grove, Ohio Margaret Mae (McKinney) Edwards, 92 died Monday, February 12, 2018, at Primrose Retirement Community, Lima, Ohio. She was born on January 11, 1926, in New Hampshire, Ohio, to Harold J. and Florence A. (Freed) McKinney. They both preceded her in death. On February 2, 1947, she married Kenneth Core Edwards, and he died March 9, 2014. Margaret is survived by two daughters: Jill Anne (Mark Zimmerman) Edwards of New York City and Lisa Kay (Craig) Strapple of Kettering, grandson Benjamin Core Reineke of Kettering and brother Thomas McKinney of Lima. She was preceded in death by three brothers: Jon, William "Warner", and James McKinney and two sisters: Iris Hennessy and Mary Lou McDonald. Margaret was a graduate of Lima South High School. She supported her husband Kenny on the farm as they raised their two girls. She made a career out of bookkeeping and served many years as the Columbus Grove School District Clerk Treasurer. Memberships included the Columbus Grove Christian Church, the Columbus Grove VFW Ladies Auxiliary, and the Monday Night Bridge Club with her friends. She spent the last few years of her life journey at Primrose making new acquaintances, reuniting with old friends, playing oodles of cards with her girlfriends and enjoying time with her family. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, February 17, 2018, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Friends may call on Friday from 2 until 4 and 6 until 8 PM, and Saturday morning prior to services from 10 until 11 AM. The family asks that memorial donations be made, in Margaret's name, to the Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation, JDRF, 70 Birch Alley, Beaver Creek, OH 45440 or to the Columbus Grove Christian Church, 105 South Broadway, Columbus Grove, OH 45830.
