Margaret Hitchcock Obituary
Margaret Sherry Hitchcock, age 80, died Friday, February 9, 2018 at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora. She was born on September 20, 1937, in Bluffton, Ohio, to Marvin and Alice (Reeder) Bartz. They both preceded her in death. On June 15, 1955, she married Richard "Dick" Hitchcock, who survives in Columbus Grove. Margaret is also survived by two sons: Dennis (Judi) Hitchcock and Darrel Hitchcock; two daughters: Debra (Vern) Crews and Diana (Joe) Hershey; four grandchildren: Dawn (Jeff) Davis, Leslie (Matt) Aubry, Jessica Hitchcock and Tylor (Jenn) Hitchcock; five great grandchildren: Faye and June Davis; Benjamin and Jackson Aubry and Saydi Hitchcock; two brothers: Jim (Jackie) Bartz and Tom (Betty) Bartz; and one sister: Carol (Stan) Wilson. She is preceded in death by two infant children: Rebecca and Darren; one granddaughter: Ann Oler and two brothers: Gayle and David Bartz. Margaret was a graduate of Columbus Grove High School, class of 1955. She was a homemaker and a member of St. John's United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove. She headed up the church dinner committee for many years and was a member of the church choir. Margaret worked many years at Kenny's Lunch, formerly of Columbus Grove. She enjoyed crocheting, putting puzzles together, gardening and her flowers. Services will begin at 11:00 am on Thursday, February 15, 2018, at St. John's United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove. Pastor Katie Hayes will officiate, with burial to follow at Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Friends may call from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00pm on Wednesday, February 14, 2018, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove and Thursday from 10:00-11:00 am prior to the service at St. John's United Methodist Church. Memorial contributions may be made to Northwest Ohio American Cancer Society, or Donors Choice. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
