Cairo, Ohio Lucille A. Karhoff, age 93, died at 1:30 pm, on Monday, August 8, 2016, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora, Ohio. She was born on April 12, 1923, in Leipsic, Ohio to Lawrence and Veronica (Goedde) Gerten. They both preceded her in death. On October 12, 1943, she married Elmer H. Karhoff. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2001. Lucille is survived by her children: Herman (Martha) Karhoff of Huber Heights, Mary (Eric) Price of Beaver Creek, Dan (Jan) Karhoff of Pandora and Bernie (Laura) Karhoff of Cairo; one daughter in-law: Donna Karhoff; 18 grandchildren: Melissa, Jeff, Kristin, Scott, Stephanie, Lisa, Renee, Christina, Erica, Andrea, Alyssa, Matthew, Luke, Joseph, John, Katie, Kelly and Brian; 17 great grandchildren: Brian, Emily, Christopher, Jonathan, Kaitlyn, Kelsey, Konnor, Kory, Grayson, Knox, Ethan, Calvin, David, Eric, William, Elizabeth, Evelyn, and two on the way; two sisters: Dorothy Duling and Mary Ann Hanneman, both of Glandorf; one brother: Lawrence (Thelma) Gerten of Leipsic; and two sisters in-law: Teresia Gerten of Leipsic and Agnes Karhoff of Glandorf. She was preceded in death by one son: Vern Karhoff; one granddaughter: Eleanor Janice Karhoff; one sister: Oledia (Ray) Siefker; four brothers: John (Rita) Gerten, Harold (Alice) Gerten, Ed Gerten and an infant brother Henry; and three brothers in-law: Victor Duling, Francis Hanneman and Walter Karhoff. A homemaker, Mrs. Karhoff grew up on a farm and was a farmer's wife. She was a member of the St. Anthony's Church and the Altar Rosary Society. Lucille made many beautiful quilts, was a great baker and always helped with the work on the farm. Services will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Saturday, August 13, 2016, at St. Anthony's Church, Columbus Grove. Father Tom Extejt will officiate. Burial will follow at St. John's Cemetery, Glandorf. Friends may call on Friday from 2:00-8:00 p.m., at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. A Rosary Service will be recited by the Altar Rosary Society at the close of visitation.
