Louis Roberts Obituary
Cairo Louis V. Roberts, 93, died at 6:23 p.m. June 23, 2012, in Lima. He was born Sept. 16, 1918, in Cowden, Ill., to Sidney and Lola Gail McManaway Roberts, who preceded him in death. On April 15, 1944, he married Betty J. Locker, who survives. Mr. Roberts was a World War II veteran, serving with the U.S. Army's 11th Armored Division, under Gen. George Patton's 3rd Army. He had retired from Ford Motor Co., Lima Engine Plant. He enjoyed fishing, playing cards with his friends and spending time with his family. Survivors also include a son, Danny J. Roberts, of Lima; a daughter, Nancy VanBuskirk, of Lima; a sister, Jean Tucker, of Beecher City, Ill.; and three stepgrandchildren, Todd, Mike, and Kyle VanBuskirk. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Bonnie Cutler and Portia McFall. Services will begin at 11 a.m. Wednesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Pastor Max McKanna will officiate. Burial will be in Cairo Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call from 3 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Alzheimer's Research at OSU Medical Center Development
