Louis Carpenter Obituary
Louis L. Carpenter, age 71, passed away in his home on August 2, 2024. He was born in Lima, Ohio on January 3, 1953 to John and Mary Carpenter who preceded him in death.
Lou is survived by his sisters Lisa (Brent) Runkle of Louisville, KY and Cheryl (Doug) McBride of Mansfield, OH. He is also survived by his brothers Doug (Sandy) Carpenter of Columbus Grove, OH and Steve (Janice) Carpenter of Columbus Grove, OH. Also surviving are nine nieces and nephews, and seven great nieces and nephews.
Lou graduated from Columbus Grove High School in 1971 and afterwards he proudly served in the U.S. Army until receiving an honorable discharge in 1978. Lou was known to spend time fishing with his brother Steve. He loved scuba diving and would often times spend his weekends looking for places to dive. He also loved sports and some of his favorite teams included the Cincinnati Reds, Cleveland Browns, and Ohio State. Many a time, Lou could be found at any one of his nieces or nephews sporting events, as family was important to him. In his free time he loved to experiment with different recipe and everyone absolutely loved his pies. He brought much joy and happiness to those around him and will be greatly missed.
Visitation will be held at Hartman Sons Funeral Home on Tuesday August 6, 2024 from 3pm until 7pm. The family will have a private funeral service at Truro Cemetery in Columbus Grove Wednesday August 7, 2024 at 10am with Pastor Jim Klausing presiding.
The family has asked that memorial contributions be made to the American Heart Association, or the American Diabetes Association.
