What a sweet lady Loretta was! She had a kind soul and the most beautiful blue eyes! I really enjoyed caring for Loretta at Calvary Manor and then Meadows of Kalida. She had the best sons a mother could ask for, visiting her almost daily . Such a special person and family, so sorry for your loss.Â
To my cousins Tim, Doug, Don, and Al, please accept our heartfelt sympathies in the loss of your mother, and my Great Aunt Loretta. Every year I think of your Mom and Dad on my birthday in July. You see, YOUR Dad, (and MY Great Uncle Johnny) shared the same birthday. For many years, our family was invited over for a celebration, that we all looked forward to. It was always a special time for everyone. The weather was usually warm or hot, and we would eat, and play outside. Aunt Loretta would bake her marvelously delicious homemade chocolate cake. Of course it was topped off with her homemade chocolate fudge frosting. If you knew Aunt Loretta this wasn't treat enough. It also MUST be accompanied by her out if this world homemade vanilla ice cream. I will never forget her big smile, the twinkle in her eyes, and her big laugh. She was always happiest doing special things for others. She was a hard worker, and a master of many things. What ever happened to the "Good Ole Days" where the small things like cake and ice cream, and being outside with treasured family members were so magnificent. This is how I remember your Mom. She was truly a special, loving, and caring Aunt who will be lovingly remembered.
To all of my cousins, Tim, Doug, Al, and Don, please accept our sincere condolences. I always think of your Mom and Dad on my birthday in July. For many years we would be invited to come to share in the celebration with Uncle Johnny, as he and I had the same birthday. It was great fun, usually with nice weather and playing and eating outside. The absolutely marvelously delicious homemade chocolate cake with homemade chocolate fudge frosting was prepared by Aunt Loretta. My entire family always looked forward to that treat, but that wasn't all. Aunt Loretta would take it over the top by serving homemade ice cream as well. She was a hard worker and a wonderful cook, always full of smiles, and with a twinkle in her eyes. Whatever happened to the good ole days? Those memories are truly treasures, as is the memory of our Aunt Loretta.
