Columbus Grove, Ohio Lois Doty VanBrunt, age 98, died at 12:30 A.M., on February 19, 2017, at Hilty Memorial Home Pandora, Ohio. She was born on September 18, 1918, in Columbus Grove, Ohio to Clarence and Myrtle (Featheringill) Barkimer. They both preceded her in death. She married Eugene Henry "Jim" Doty, and was then married to Charles Van Brunt in 1972. They both preceded her in death. Lois is survived by four sons: James (Carol) Doty, Ronald (Barbara) Doty both of Columbus Grove, Donald (Jane) Doty of Lima, and Jerry Doty of Columbus: three daughters; Patsy (Tom) Smith of Pickerington, Ohio, Doris (William) Snoke and Jo Lynn Yates both of Columbus Grove: 17 Grandchildren, 31 Great- Grandchildren and 3 Great- Great- Granddaughters and one sister: Alice Blockberger of Columbus Grove, Ohio. She was preceded in death by one son Larry Doty; four brothers Richard, Charles, Clarence" Shine" and Robert Barkimer and two sisters Eula Riggenbach, and Mary Smith. Lois attended Columbus Grove High School. She had been a waitress, bartender and she had also worked at Kohls Market in Columbus Grove. She loved to garden and would give vegetables to family and friends. She was an avid reader and loved to watch golf on T.V. Lois was a faithful caregiver to family and friends throughout her life. The love of family and friends were what she cherished most in life. Services will begin at 2:00 P.M. on Saturday February 25, 2017 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. Reverend Daniel J. Doty will officiate, with private family burial at a later date, at Truro Cemetery, Columbus Grove. Friends may call from 12:00 noon- 2:00 P.M., prior to the service on Saturday, February 25, 2017 at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove.
