Lenore Gratz Obituary
Columbus Grove, Ohio Lenore I. Gratz, 101, died at 11:20 pm. on Monday, February 20, 2017, at Lima Memorial Health Care System. She was born on December 6, 1915, near Cairo, Ohio, to Lester and Pearl (Beemer) Everitt. They both preceded her in death. On June 20, 1937, she married Kenneth L. Gratz. He preceded her in death on December 16, 1964. Lenore is survived by two sons: Kenneth L Gratz of Columbus Grove and Howard L. (Sarah) Gratz of Mount Vernon, Ohio; one grandson: Cory (Cindy) Gratz of Mount Vernon; one grandson in-law: Matthew Zak of Mount Vernon; two great grandchildren: Caleb and Kalyn Zak; three sisters: Treva Eversole, Wilma Lora and Phyllis Verhoff all of Columbus Grove: seven nieces and seven nephews. She was preceded in death by one granddaughter: Gina Zak; one sister: Maxine (Clyde) Anderson; two brothers: Ralph (Juanita) Everitt and Otis (Reta) Everitt; three brothers in-law: Robert Verhoff, Charles Lora and Nolan Eversole. Lenore started her education at the Jennings Country School, located formerly on the S.W. corner of Lincoln Highway and Slabtown Road. She finished and graduated from Columbus Grove High School. She was a homemaker, and had worked at the Wiechart Pharmacy, from which she retired. She and Kenneth were long standing members of the Lima First E. and R. Church. When she moved to Columbus Grove, she attended the Columbus Grove Christian Church and the St. John's United Methodist Church. Lenore enjoyed flower gardening and kept it "weed-free." She also enjoyed living near her sisters in Columbus Grove, and taking long walks with them in good weather. Services will begin at 1:00 pm., on Friday, February 24, 2017, at St Johns United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove. Pastor Brett Kelly will officiate, with burial to follow in Memorial Park, Lima. Friends may call from 11:00 am - 1:00 pm, time of service, at St John's United Methodist Church, 205 North High Street, Columbus Grove. Memorial contributions may be made to St. Johns United Methodist Church, Columbus Grove or The Lima Rescue Mission. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
