COLUMBUS GROVE Larry Joe Smith, 61, was found at his residence Feb. 5, 2013. He was born May 2, 1951, in Lima to Gladwin B. and Mary Barkimer Smith, who preceded him in death. Mr. Smith was a 1969 graduate of Columbus Grove High School. He was an Army veteran, serving during the Vietnam War. Following the military, he worked at Konalrad Products, Northwest Fuel Injection, and Fitness Junction — all in Columbus Grove. He was self-employed as an interior designer. His work include designing, as well as the fabrication (sewing, upholstery, etc.) for the creation of his designs. Survivors include three brothers, Terry (Brenda) Anderson and Irvin “Andy” (Polly) Anderson, both of Lima, and Robert (Sarah) Anderson, of Montpelier; three sisters, Nancy Goedde and Mary (Russell) Cramer, both of Columbus Grove, and Sharon Bledsoe, of Lima; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by three brothers-in-law, Thomas Goedde, Ray Hofferbert and Scott Bledsoe. Services will begin at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. The Rev. Harry Tolhurst will officiate. Burial will be in Osborn Cemetery, Columbus Grove, with military rites by American Legion Post 516 and Veterans of Foreign Wars Post 9648. Friends may call from noon until time of services Wednesday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor’s choice.
