Columbus Grove, Ohio Kathleen McCrate Beckman, age 74, went home to Jesus on December 28, 2016, at Blanchard Valley Bridge Hospice, Findlay, Ohio. She was the treasured wife of Pete Beckman, who survives in Columbus Grove, beloved mother of Missy Beckman (Charles) Nalliah, in Philadelphia, PA, and Dr. Barry (Nicki) Beckman, in Columbus Grove. Kathleen was born August 15, 1942, to Lane and Jesse (Maidlow) McCrate. She is survived by her brothers Dennis (Marie) McCrate in Barnesville and Jim (Pearl) McCrate in Pandora. She was preceded in death by her brother Bill McCrate. She was a graduate of Ottawa High School in 1960, after which she worked at Philips ECG and the Putnam County Vidette, before marrying her sweetheart, Petie, on November 13, 1965. Kathleen devoted her days taking care of her husband and children. Kathleen was the sweetest, kindest, gentlest spirit. She cared for all, and especially loved creating beauty in her home, decorating, celebrating her Irish heritage and her precious grandchildren: Samadhanam and Vijay Nalliah; Caden, Chloe and Brynn Beckman. She was a member of St. Anthony's Church and worshipped with her church family as often as she could. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, January 3, 2017, from 12:00pm to 2:00pm at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. A Mass of Christian Burial will follow at 2:30pm, at St. Anthony's Church, Columbus Grove. Burial will follow in the Church cemetery. Donations can be made to St. Anthony's Catholic Church in Columbus Grove. Online condolences may be expressed at hartmansonsfuneralhome.com.
