Judith Lee (Bowersock) Doty's Obituary
Judith Doty Obituary
Columbus Grove, Ohio Judith Lee Doty (1944 - 2015) died peacefully in her sleep on November 19 after spending a day with some of her favorite things - books. Judy was a librarian at the Putnam County Library for many years, a job she chose because of her love of books. Judy is survived by her four children, their partners and nine grandchildren who all had the benefit of her unconditional love and encouraging support. Her family includes: Dawn Doty and Matt Vawter (Boulder, Colo.); Travis and Rita Doty and their children Kyra, Reese and Miles (Cincinnati); Jason and Sara Doty and their children Sage, Ash, Alyssa and Alexa (Columbus); and Matt and Kari Doty and their daughters Sophia and Olivia (Columbus). She is also survived by her younger sister and gardener, Joyce Seyer and her husband Denny of Columbus Grove and Larry Doty's mother and siblings, whom she considered sisters and brothers throughout her life. She was the daughter of Vera and Irvin Bowersock. The love of her life was Larry Doty, the father of her children, whom she divorced for many good reasons but always loved. Please join Judy's family to honor and celebrate her life at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Wednesday, November 25, 2015 from 2:00-4:00 pm. Memorial services will immediately follow at 4:00 pm. In lieu of flowers, her children invite you to make a donation in her honor to the Columbus Grove Branch of the Putnam County Library. Alternately, she would cherish donations to WoundedWarriorProject. Judy loved daisies and space. The next time you see a daisy or stand in awe of the night sky, say hello to Judy because her spirit will live forever in the simple joy that daisies bring and in the awe of our galaxy's bright stars.
