John David Radabaugh, age 79, passed away on August 28, 2022, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. David was born July 11, 1943, in Lima, Ohio, to John and Sara Radabaugh, who preceded him in death.
David married Katherine E. Ehrhardt on July 20, 1968, and she survives near Columbus Grove.
He is survived by his sons Kenneth D (Allison) Radabaugh and Eric M (Stephanie) Radabaugh; his sister-in-law Eva Jane Radabaugh, and brother-in-law John Hermiller; his grandchildren Tyler Radabaugh, Haley Radabaugh, Derek Geiger, Emma, Ethan, and Elaina Woodruff as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his brother George “Bill” Radabaugh, and sisters Joyce Stieglitz, and Jane Hermiller.
David attended Columbus Grove Schools and served in the US Army during the Vietnam War. He worked at General Motors in Defiance, retiring in 2004. He had also been a part-time police officer with the Columbus Grove police department. David was a member of the Columbus Grove American Legion Post 516, the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 2772, and the VFW Post 9648. He enjoyed working in his yard and caring for his garden. He always put family first, attending school events of his children and grandchildren topped his list, followed by attending car shows.
A private family service will be held on September 1, 2022, at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio, including military rites.
