John Reed Obituary
John L “Jack” Reed, age 88, passed away on Saturday December 16, 2023, at St. Rita’s Medical Center in Lima, Ohio. Jack was born on December 01, 1935, in Columbus Grove to Ralph C. and Nina Reed who preceded him in death.
Jack is survived by sons Mike (Deb) Reed, and Greg Reed, brother Duanne (Lena) Reed, sister Marilyn “Skip” Quinn, grandchildren Amy (Michael) Morelli, Brett (Paige) Reed, Trent (Melissa) Reed, Shelby Reed and Trevor Ahin, Jordan Reed, and great grandchildren Quinn Reed, Jenson Reed, Jax Reed, Claire Reed, Wren Ahin, Reed Morelli, and Jack Morelli, and extended family member Jody Sharrits. Jack is preceded in death by his brother Tom (Dortha) Reed, his sister Betty (Bob) Graham, brother-in-law Carl Quinn, and one great granddaughter.
Jack spent four years in the Air Force serving our country. After his honorable discharge from the Air Force, he spent his years driving truck for Northwestern Equipment. Jack was a fan of all Cleveland Sports Teams and an avid Buckeyes fan, who was often heard saying, “You know it’s a good weekend when the Bulldogs, Buckeyes, and Browns win.” Jack was also a lifetime member of the VFW.
Visitation will be held at Hartman Sons Funeral Home in Columbus Grove on Wednesday, December 20, 2023 from 5pm until 7pm. Funeral services will begin at 7pm at Hartman Sons Funeral Home with Pastor Jim Klausing presiding. Memorial contributions may be made to the Columbus Grove Athletic Boosters.
