John Hardy, Jr., 55, died Sunday July 8, 2012, at Florida Hospital North Pinellas, Tarpon Springs, Florida.
John was born August 14, 1956, the son of John R. Hardy, Sr. and Edna (Couch) Hardy, who preceded him in death. On June 5, 1983 he married Debra L. Klingler, who survives in Columbus Grove, Ohio.
Mr. Hardy was a Columbus Grove High School graduate, class of 1974. He had worked at the Lima Correction Institution, as a Corrections Officer. John had previously work at Oakwood Corrections, Lima; as a Manager for Radio Shack, Toledo and at the former Sylvania, in Ottawa. John had enjoyed going to Sprint Car Races at Eldora Speedway and Limaland Mortorsports Park. He also loved watching NASCAR racing and Ohio State football.
John is survived by three sisters, Edna (Gerry) Mann, of Celina, Carolyn (Larry) Sparrowe-Coppes, of McComb, and Jean Dirmeyer, of Lafayette. He is also survived by several nieces, nephews, great-nieces and great-nephews.
Friends may call from 11am to 1pm Wednesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio.
Memorial Contributions may be made to the American Heart Association, American Diabetes Association or the Kidney Foundation.
A private family burial will take place at a later date.
