Joan Osterhage Obituary
Columbus Grove, Ohio Joan I. Osterhage, 82, died at 6:30 p.m. Friday, January 30, 2015, at The Meadows of Ottawa, Ohio. She was born on January 6, 1933, in Ottawa, Ohio to Joseph and Irene (Drerup) Kleman, both of whom preceded her in death. On August 21, 1954, she married Robert "Bob" V. Osterhage, and he preceded her in death on November 3, 2013. A graduate of Kalida High School, Joan had worked many years at the Columbus Grove Dairy Whip. She was a member of St. Anthony Catholic Church and the Altar Rosary Society. She was also a member of the Columbus Grove American Legion Auxiliary and the Columbus Grove Band Boosters. She loved to read, attend her children and grandchildren's school activities and dance recitals. She is survived by two sons: Michael (Darlene) Osterhage, Ottawa, and Thomas (Kathy) Osterhage, Columbus Grove; two daughters: Debra (Keith) Bell, Columbus Grove, and Lisa (Jeff) Osting, Glandorf; seven grandchildren: Lisa Beth (Joe) Brautigam, Adam (Caitlin) Osterhage, Haley (Matt) McVicker, Alexander Bell, Casey Osterhage, Alexis Osting and Cole Osting; three great grandchildren: Charlotte Brautigam, Isla May McVicker and one on the way; one brother: Alan (Joan) Kleman, Indianapolis, Indiana; and ten sisters in-law: Jane Kleman, Mildred Remlinger, Cecelia Gerdeman, Marie (Joe) Langhals, Rosella Osterhage, all of Kalida, Joan (Jerry) Kuhlman, Ottawa, , Ruth Ann (David) Manley, Hinkley, Rita (Roy) Morman, Dorothy Osterhage both of Glandorf and Pauline Osterhage, Columbus Grove. Joan was preceded in death by two brothers: William (Pat) Kleman and Earl Kleman; seven brothers in-law: Wilbur Remlinger, Donald Gerdeman, Wilfred, Alfred, Eugene, Paul and Father Louis Osterhage; and two sisters in-law: Rose Arlene (Joe) Kistler and Julianna (Dave) Hamilton. Joan's family would like to express our sincere thanks to the staff of the Meadows of Ottawa for the loving care they gave to Bob & Joan over the last 12 years. Even before our dad was a resident, we always knew they that were looking out for him. Mom was always content to be at the Meadows and we so appreciate the excellent care they received. Love to all of you. Mass of Christian Burial will begin at 10:00 a.m., on Wednesday, February 4, 2015, at St. Anthony Catholic Church, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Father Tom Extejt will be officiating. Burial will follow in St. Anthony Cemetery, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Friends may call from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on Monday and 2:00-8:00 p.m. on Tuesday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio.
