Cairo, Ohio Jeannine K. Dackin, age 78 years, died at 3:35 p.m., on Tuesday, May 10, 2016, at Hilty Memorial Home, Pandora, Ohio. She was born September 25, 1937, in Cairo, Ohio to William E. and Viola (Heistand) Bowers. They both preceded her in death. On November 3, 1956, she married Richard "Dick" D. Dackin, and he survives near Cairo, Ohio. Mrs. Dackin was a graduate from Lima Central High School, class of 1955. She had worked for 40 years with the Bath Schools, in the Cafeteria and in the Treasurer's Office. Prior to Bath Schools, she worked at the City Loan in Lima, and Nationwide Insurance in Cairo. Jeannine was a member of the Cairo United Methodist Church, where she served as Treasurer for 40 years, served on the funeral dinner committee and was a member of the Women's Society. She was also a volunteer at Lima Memorial Hospital. Jeannine dedicated her life to being a wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She is survived by three sons: Steve (Susan) Dackin of Columbus, Ohio, Jeff (Sandy) Dackin and Rich (Sandra) Dackin, both of Lima, Ohio; eleven granddaughters: Jessica, Erika, Alex , Rachel (Jacob) Child, Taylor, Madison, Katie, Ellie, Bailey, Tori and Abbie; one great granddaughter: Sophia Child; one sister in-law: Martha Kohler of Cairo; one brother in-law: Gary Dackin of Olathe, KS. She was preceded in death by an infant daughter; sisters in-law: Ruth (Jack) Steele, Marcile (Paul) Seibeneck, Marguerite Dackin, Helen (George) Stephens, Dorothy (Warren) Eastman and Karen Dackin; and one brother in-law: Richard Kohler. Services will begin at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, May 17, 2016, at the Cairo United Methodist Church. Pastor Ruth Ann Scoby will officiate, with burial to follow in the Cairo Eastside Cemetery. Friends may call on Monday, May 16, 2016 from 2:00-4:00 & 6:00-8:00 p.m. at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove, Ohio. Memorial contributions may be made to the Cairo United Methodist Church or the Cairo Volunteer Fire and Rescue Department.
