Janice S Martz's Obituary
Janice S. Martz, 84, of Columbus Grove, passed away unexpectedly on Thursday, December 18, 2025, at her residence. She was born on October 24, 1941, in Lima, Ohio to the late Carl and Edith (Donovan) Schindler. She was a member of the Cairo United Methodist Church and a graduate of Columbus Grove High School. She enjoyed reading, gardening, and riding her bike, where she loved to talk to folks on her travels. She never knew a stranger. Janice loved her family and especially spoiling her grandchildren.
She is survived by her children, Michael (Mary) Martz, Angela Hunter, Scott Martz, Jeffrey (Karen Musser) Martz, and Thomas Martz; brothers, Ronnie (Karen) Schindler, and John Schindler; grandchildren, Ryan Martz, Matthew Martz, Colin Hunter, Jack Hunter, and Ian Martrz; numerous nieces and nephews; preceded in death by her husband of 28 years, Wayne Martz, siblings, Dorothy (Tom) Blosser, Mary (Paul) Patton and Bob (Betty) Schindler and sister-in-law, Sharon Shindler. The family would like to offer a special thank you to Flossie Selhorst and the Selhorst Family for all their support.
A Memorial Service will be held on December 29, 2025, at 12:00 PM with visitation two hours prior from 10:00 AM - 12:00 PM at Hartman-Rousculp Community Funeral Home, 10879 SR 12 West, Columbus Grove, Ohio. A private committal service to follow at Cairo Eastside Cemetery, Cairo, Ohio. Preferred Memorials may be made Beaverdam Fire & Rescue.
