COLUMBUS GROVE — James R. Winsley, 86 died Feb. 25, 2013 at Highland Village, Elko, NV. He was born December 22, 1926 in Pierceton, IN to John R and Myrtle MortWinsley, who preceded him in death. On May 29, 1949, he married Wanda Jean Diller, who died July 14, 2000. Mr. Winsley was a graduate of Van Wert High School, Van Wert, Ohio and Defiance College, Defiance, Ohio. Jim retired from Duff Truck Lines, Lima, as a Manager of Rates and Routing in 1988. He had belonged to St. John’s Untied Church of Christ, Bluffton, Ohio, the former United Church of Christ Columbus Grove, Ohio and was presently a member of the Elko First Presbyterian Church, Elko, NV. He had been the Treasurer and volunteer of the Columbus Grove Food Pantry and had served on the Putnam County Mental Health Board, Ottawa. Jim and Wanda’s grandchildren were the lights of their lives. Survivors include four children, Sally Winsley, of Elko, NV, John R. (Mary Ann) Winsley, of Hampton, VA, Timothy E. Winsley, of Elko, NV, and Mary (Dr. Nicholas) Opanasets, of Framingham, MA; and four grandchildren, Christopher J. Winsley OF Salt Lake City, UT, James R. Winsley, of Silver Springs, MD, Susannah F. Winsley, of Orlando, FL, and Emily E. Winsley (Kyle Farley), of Portland, OR Services will begin at 2 p.m. Monday at Hartman Sons Funeral Home, Columbus Grove. The Rev. Harry Tolhurst will officiate. Burial will be in Truro Cemetery Columbus Grove. Friends may call from noon until time of services Monday at the funeral home. Memorial contributions may be made to Elko First Presbyterian Church Organ Fund or The Gideon’s International.
